Promontory Point Conservancy nabs big grant for engineering study
The Promontory Point Conservancy received a $117,500 grant last week to bolster its efforts in making the case that the Point’s limestone shoreline can be preserved. Gifted by the Richard Driehaus Foundation, the grant will fund the completion of an "Alternatives Design Study and Cost Benefit Analysis" of Promontory Point by the McLaren Engineering Group. It’s the third award given recently to the community conservation group to help it fund preservation studies of Promontory Point in its 20-year fight to preserve the limestone from erosion and demolition by the city.

Blue Lotus Yoga, a yoga studio in Woodlawn, is closed and looking for a new location after almost five years of business.
