Presque Isle Ruby Tuesday closes for repairs after failing two health inspections
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - The Ruby Tuesday restaurant in Presque Isle has closed for repairs after failing two health inspections this summer. On June 20, 2024, the State of Maine conducted an inspection that found Ruby Tuesday to be in violation of 3 critical and 14 non critical violations. The inspection revealed issues with their plumbing and sewage, cross contamination risks and uncleanliness, among other issues. As per state law, Ruby Tuesday’s was given time to fix these violations and had another inspection within 30 days.

Housing vision: Chrostowsky eyes ‘Great American Neighborhood’ in Wiscasset

In a July 25 letter to Town Manager Dennis Simmons, Economic Development Director Aaron Chrostowsky proposes the town ask Lincoln County for American Rescue Plan Act funds to plan the use of the town’s nearly 300 acres along Back River between Old Ferry, Birch Point and Westport Island Bridge roads for a “Great American Neighborhood,” walkable and linked to Old Ferry Boat Landing and Chewonki Foundation’s Cushman Preserve, and integrating “fiber-to-home technology, clean energy and green infrastructure.”

Thunderstorm Threat Continues Tomorrow, with More Showers and Storms in the Forecast
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - Good evening everyone and happy Tuesday. We had an active weather day across the county with showers and thunderstorms developing during the afternoon and early evening hours. The area of low pressure and energy associated with this shower activity continues to push eastward, and will result in showers tapering off later tonight, with some patchy fog possible to develop between now and tomorrow morning. Clouds likely linger in the forecast during the morning hours of Wednesday, with another round of showers and thunderstorms developing and pushing through during the afternoon and evening hours. We’ll continue to see active weather through the end of the work week and into the weekend, as low pressure continues to develop and impact our weather until then.
Southport Column: Keeping busy on the island
Many us remember Dick Snyder who lived in Newagen for many years, and who died on Feb. 21 of this year.
