NORTH ADAMS, Mass. (WWLP) – The 2024 Solid Sound Festival kicked off at MASS MoCA Friday, with a weekend filled with music, comedy, local food and beer, and family fun.
Spanning three days and across four different stages, the annual festival was curated by Wilco and its members’ side projects with a unique music lineup filled with some of the bands’ favorite emerging artists.
Since 2010, Solid Sound has been filling not only the surroundings of MASS MoCA with music but the museum spaces as well. Alongside outdoor performances, the festival also promises intimate chats, and live sessions throughout the museum itself for attendees to enjoy. In addition to spontaneous pop-up performances, concert-goers can enjoy all of the current exhibits that MASS MoCA has to offer, including special one-time activities and experiences tailored to the festival.
Nationally recognized bands and artists will take the stage this weekend, with Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit headlining Friday, with acts such as Horsegirl, Courtney Marie Andrews, Sylvan Esso, and more. Saturday will consist of acts such as Dry Cleaning, Nick Lowe & Los Straitjackets, Soul Glo, Fenne Lily, among others. And Sunday will feature performances from Jeff Tweedy & Friends, Iris Dement, Wednesday, Young@Heart, and more. Western Mass. natives Wilco will perform special sets each night of the festival.
