Firefighters Kids Day returns for 43rd year to massive crowds
The crowds filled the parking lot and fields at the town’s middle school for the 43rd annual North Attleborough Firefighters Kids Day. The weekend featured a lot of events that included fireworks on Friday and Saturday, bike giveaways each day to one boy and one girl, Northeast Championship Wrestling on Saturday, concerts all weekend long and a lot of rides and games.
Track Improvement Program Continues on Red Line Braintree Branch in September
BOSTON – The MBTA announces its Red Line Braintree branch service will be suspended for 24 days to allow for improvements. MBTA’s Track Improvement Program continues on its Red Line Braintree branch from September 6th to 29th. Crews will work on repairs to 18 miles of track from JFK/UMass to Braintree. This work is expected to result in removing 20 speed restrictions in order to improve travel time. During this service suspension, no Red Line trains will service North Quincy, Wollaston, Quincy Center, Quincy Adams, and Braintree.

Milford Offers Free Disposal of Old Trash Containers at Transfer Station
By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – So now that Milford has moved to a new trash and recycling system, what are you supposed to do with the old containers? The Town says residents who are on the new trash and recycling program can now bring the old barrels to the Transfer Station to dispose of at no charge. They can only be brought to the Transfer Station during normal working hours but there is no charge and you don’t need a sticker. The Transfer Station is open Thursday and Sunday 10am-4pm and Friday and Saturday 8am-4pm.
