Century Walk: ‘Parade of the Century’
With the Fourth of July Independence Day this month, it might be time to reflect on something that we all seem to take for granted – our freedom. Century Walk has consistently paid tribute to our freedoms and the people who earned them and continue to serve to keep us free. Yearly there are parades, and should you attend one this year, you might want to go over to Century walk location #41 titled “Naperville Loves a Parade.”

The Naperville Salute festival is returning to Rotary Hill this year, to bring some post Fourth of July fun. A hometown celebration honoring our nation’s military. This will be the fourth installment of the event, billed as a “family-friendly Independence Day Hometown Celebration,” with a special focus on honoring our nation’s military and their families. It takes place from July 5 through 7 at Rotary Hill in downtown Naperville.

Illinois Ends Fiscal Year With Nearly $5B Cash on Hand
Illinois entered a new fiscal year Monday with a bit of a financial cushion as the prior year’s revenues exceeded final projections by about $123 million. The state ended fiscal year 2024 with about $4.7 billion cash on hand, or about 9% of the allocated spending for fiscal year 2025, which began July 1. That included a record high $2.1 billion in the state’s budget stabilization, or “rainy day” fund, which has seen its balance grow steadily over the past five years.
