Early morning commuters on the Eisenhower Expressway experienced significant delays today as a semi-trailer carrying 27,000 pounds of canned goods overturned near Elmhurst. The incident occurred around 5:20 a.m. in the inbound lanes just east of the Tri-State Tollway (I-294), as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times. Illinois State Police responded swiftly to the scene of the crash. As of their latest update, all eastbound lanes continued to be closed, with vehicles being directed to divert onto the southbound lanes of I-294.

Unincorporated Joliet Shooting Victim Identified
This is the office of Will County Coroner Laurie Summers on Thursday, July 25, 2024, reporting the death of Jayden Velazquez-Garcia, a 19 year old male resident of Plainfield, IL. who was pronounced deceased at 5:43 PM on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at ASJMC in Joliet. Mr. Velazquez-Garcia was the apparent victim of a gunshot wound that occurred in the 100 block of Luana Rd. in Joliet. The Will County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the incident. An autopsy was performed today, Thursday, July 25, 2024. The final cause and manner of death will be determined at a later date pending police, autopsy and toxicology reports.

CHICAGO - A fire broke out at a home, causing an estimated $75,000 in damage Tuesday night in suburban Streamwood. The fire started around 11 p.m. in the rear of a two-story house in the 100 block of Grey Fox Court, according to the Streamwood Fire Department.
