Beach campfire planned

The town of North Beach will hold a campfire on the beach 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 29, at the boardwalk. There will also be hot chocolate and the making of S’mores. Go to www.northbeachmd.org.

Planting days set

Historic Sotterley is looking for helpers for its annual Growing for Good Volunteer Planting Days 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Saturdays, March 30 and April 6, at 44300 Sotterley Lane in Hollywood. 'Forest' exhibit ends this weekend

Woods course registering

Registration is being accepted for a “The Woods in Your Backyard” course, which will be held Mondays from April 8 through June 17. The course will help landowners convert lawn to natural areas and enhance stewardship of existing natural areas. Scholarships available

The Bel Alton High School Alumni Association is accepting applications through April 15 for its annual scholarship program for Charles County high school seniors and other young adults who are planning to enroll in a historically Black college and universities, College of Southern Maryland, or an accredited vocational/trade school.
