Gallery by the Bay is thrilled to welcome David Castleberry

For an exhibition of selected work July 12 - August 31

On large and small, square, rectangular, and uniquely shaped pieces of Masonite, artist David Castleberry interprets the beauty and magic of the local area with oil paints. Using broad strokes and tiny dots and swirls, he infuses the pieces with light and shadow inviting the viewer to look deeper.

One of the South Coast’s best known artists, David has a long history of exhibitions and awards. His solo exhibits in museums and prestigious galleries criss-cross the nation. Expanding on woodworking skills, fabric making and design, he has most recently been painting with oils on pieces of prepared Masonite, bringing the beauty of his surroundings to life adding a bit of whimsy. Most of David’s current work is quite large (3 ft x 3 ft and larger) although he does smaller pieces also…including his famous fish shaped creations familiar to those who have visited the Southwest Regional Airport.

It is one of these ‘famous fish’ that will go home with a lucky raffle winner.

Reception for David’s exhibit will be held July 12, 5-7 pm with raffle at 6:30. Winner must be present. There will be music and beverages.

This event coincides with North Bend’s Sip n Stroll. To participate in the Sip n Stroll, register ( with ID) at the North Bend Visitors Center (745 California next to City Hall). Make sure you include GALLERY BY THE BAY (behind Liberty Theater) in your stroll. Meet David Castleberry and join us in celebrating his work.
