USA Baseball has revealed the 16-team lineup for the 2024 National High School Invitational (NHSI). The event will occur from April 10-13 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. The Greater Raleigh Sports Alliance and the Town of Cary are presenting the eleventh annual tournament. The lineup includes the defending champion, Huntington Beach High School from California, and three-time champion Orange Lutheran High School, also from California.

Paul Seiler, USA Baseball Executive Director/CEO, commented on the upcoming tournament. He noted the event's history of featuring outstanding players and champions. He also welcomed the participating teams, their families, and fans. Tori Collins, the Greater Raleigh Sports Alliance Director, mentioned the event's economic benefits to the community and its role in promoting Cary as a top amateur sports destination.

Huntington Beach High School, a two-time NHSI winner, is a notable participant. The school won its first NHSI trophy in 2016 and its second in 2023. After its NHSI win, Huntington Beach ended 2023 with a 21-9 overall record and advanced to the second round of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Baseball Championships.

Orange Lutheran High School, a six-time NHSI participant, is another team to watch. The school has a strong tournament record of 18-5 and is aiming for its fourth NHSI title. They finished the 2023 season with a 20-12-1 record and qualified for the CIF SoCal Division I Baseball Championships.

The tournament will also feature several returning schools and new entrants. Harvard-Westlake School from Studio City, California, a three-time NHSI participant, is returning for the first time since 2019. Other returning schools include Bishop Gorman from Las Vegas, Nevada, Farragut High School from Knoxville, Tennessee, and Puyallup High School from Puyallup, Washington. Seven schools will be participating in the NHSI for the first time, including 2023 5A Arizona state champion Casteel High School from Queen Creek, Arizona, and 2023 Washington Catholic Athletic.
