I recently had the pleasure of dining at SAAP Laotian Restaurant in downtown Cary, and it was an experience to remember! The atmosphere is cozy with large windows that add a bright, airy feel to the place. It's right next to a large park, perfect for a leisurely stroll after a fulfilling meal. The chef, a former executive at a renowned Laotian spot, brings a unique flair to the menu, which features refreshing, non-greasy dishes. I started with the juicy chicken satay, which was so good that I had to order another round! For the main course, the pork belly soup and the green curry seafood were standout dishes, packed with flavor and cooked to perfection.
The service was quick and efficient, with super friendly servers that made the dining experience even more delightful. Although the restaurant was bustling and a bit loud, it only added to the lively ambiance. The drinks menu also deserves a mention, with creative concoctions that perfectly complement the meal. Although there were a few minor hiccups, like the slightly hard rice and the absence of dipping sauces for the honey wings, the overall meal was impressive. The complimentary treats like shrimp chips and chocolate fondue strawberries were a sweet touch to end the night.
If you're in Cary and craving some authentic Laotian cuisine, SAAP should definitely be on your list. It's a gem that holds its own against some of the top restaurants out there, and I can't wait to go back!
