Recently, I had the chance to dine at Texas Roadhouse and wanted to share my experience. The visit started with a bit of a wait, but once seated, the service was commendable. The staff was friendly and accommodating, especially when we requested to move to a cleaner table, which was handled with grace despite a small mix-up with the hostess. The blooming onion appetizer was a highlight, deliciously prepared and a great start to the meal. The porterhouse steak was another standout, cooked to perfection and so tender that it nearly fell apart at the touch of a fork. The loaded mashed potatoes were flavorful, though the mac and cheese did leave something to be desired with its slightly clumpy and bland cheese sauce.
However, it's worth noting that my recent experiences haven't been as consistent. On a few occasions, the quality of the steak has diminished, being tougher and less juicy than before, which was disappointing. Additionally, there have been issues with the availability of bread and long waits for service, which detracted from the overall dining experience.
Despite these inconsistencies, the kindness and energy of the servers are always a plus, making each visit pleasant. While there have been some misses, the hits make Texas Roadhouse a place I find myself returning to, hoping for a return to the high standards they once upheld.
