Recently, I ventured into Hometown Delicious, eager to dive into their array of authentic Chinese dishes. My experience was a rollercoaster of flavors and textures. Starting off, the sliced beef in chili oil was a fiery delight, bursting with spiciness and rich flavors, easily scoring a 12/10 on my taste buds! The cucumbers in special sauce were another highlight, so refreshingly good that they alone are worth a revisit.
However, not all dishes hit the mark. The shredded pork with green peppers fell short due to the undercooked peppers, dampening the overall enjoyment. Similarly, the squid dish, while flavorful, was overwhelmingly packed with onions and peppercorns, which was a bit too much for my liking.
Despite a few misses, the warmth of the staff and the hits among the dishes make Hometown Delicious a place I'd recommend for those looking to explore traditional Chinese cuisine. The dumplings and fried pumpkin added a nice touch to our meal, and I'm curious to try more from their menu on my next visit. If you're in the mood for some genuine Chinese flavors, this spot might just do the trick!
