Shanghai Alley Reviewed: From Chicken Feet to Dan Dan Noodles

Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Shanghai Alley, a restaurant that promises an authentic dim sum experience reminiscent of a bustling Chinatown. During my visit, I indulged in a variety of dim sum from their famous trolleys. The chicken feet were surprisingly meaty, a delightful surprise for my palate, while the radish cakes and spring rolls were packed with flavor. The dan dan noodles were a standout, perfectly spiced and utterly satisfying.

However, the service did have its ups and downs. On a busy day, the restaurant struggled a bit with timely service. It was challenging to get the necessary utensils and attention from the staff initially, but once things settled, the atmosphere turned quite enjoyable. They even played music and sang for a birthday celebration, adding a festive touch to the meal.

The ambiance of Shanghai Alley is beautifully crafted, making it a potentially great spot for a date night. Despite the service hiccups, the quality of the food and the overall experience were enough to make me consider returning, perhaps on a quieter weekday to avoid the rush. The delicious duck and the attentive service on a less busy day were highlights that shouldn't be overlooked.
