NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The South Carolina Public Service Commission will hold public hearings for Dominion Energy customers as the utility provider looks to increase rates.

The hearings will specifically focus on Dominion Energy’s application to adjust and increase its retail electric rate schedules, tariffs, and terms and conditions.

Customers in the Charleston area can attend a hearing Thursday night at the Lonnie Hamilton Public Services Building in North Charleston at 6 p.m.

“Dominion Energy is committed to providing the reliable, affordable, and increasingly clean energy that powers our customers every day. As a responsible energy company with rates lower than the national average, we must invest money and recover the riding costs needed to keep our plants running, our system reliable, and our grid secure, all while doing our part to help make South Carolina a place where people want to live and work,” the company said in a statement to News 2.

The Lonnie Hamilton Public Services Building is located at 4045 Bridge View Drive.
