NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – An employee was bitten during a large fight that erupted Wednesday evening at a Ladson Road fast food restaurant.

Officers with the North Charleston Police Department were dispatched to a Bojangles shortly before 7 p.m. after being notified of an active fight at the business.

The victim, an employee at the restaurant, told police that she was behind the counter when the suspects entered and said they wanted to fight her because one of the other suspects had lost a previous fight.

The victim, 19, said she took her shoes and socks off as the suspects came behind the counter and challenged her to fight, according to an incident report. She also admitted to verbally challenging them before they began assaulting her.

According to the report, the victim was engaged in a one-on-one fight with one of the suspects before another approached and started assaulting her and then engaged in another fight.

A second victim who was working at the drive-thru window intervened and attempted to separate the individuals, but she was assaulted by one of the suspects before they all left the restaurant.

Police say roughly four to six people entered the business to intimidate the victim.

The victim and another unnamed person told police the subjects had been seen sitting outside of the restaurant on several occasions waiting for the victim to leave so they could confront her.

The report says the victim suffered a broken fingernail, broken toenail, and a bite mark on her inner left bicep which broke the skin. The second victim injured her elbow.

Police were looking to identify the suspects.
