Officers testify in Alexandra Eckersley trial about search for baby in NH woods
MANCHESTER, N.H. — The trial of a woman accused of abandoning her newborn baby in bitterly cold weather continued Friday with more testimony from police. Alexandra Eckersley faces five charges, including two counts of second-degree assault, which are related to the newborn's hypothermia and respiratory problems. A falsifying physical evidence charge is connected to her allegedly failing to tell officials where the baby was. She is also charged with reckless conduct and endangering the welfare of a child.

The Sanford Housing Authority wants to make the public aware of a scam targeting housing assistance applicants that has been circulating on social media channels including Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok. The scam purports to expedite applications or reduce waiting list times for those seeking Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV), formerly known as Section 8. The scam ads direct applicants to govassistance(dot)org, which is not a legitimate website. The purpose of the scam is to obtain the personal information of prospective applicants to facilitate fraudulent activity.
