    Knox Twp. Festival set Saturday with music, tractor pulls, kids fun

    Classic cars, tractor pulls and games for children will be highlights of Saturday’s Knox Township Festival.

    Managed by Homeworth Community Group, the event will run noon to 10 p.m. at the North Georgetown Community Pavilion at North Georgetown Fire Department.

    George D. Worth Color Guard of North Georgetown American Legion Post 574 will raise the flag at noon to start off the day’s events. Steven Schreckengost will play the national anthem on guitar, and Pam Miller will lead a prayer. Background Bluegrass Music will be playing all day courtesy of Kerry Varble.

    A car show with more than 100 vintage and classic cars will run noon to 3 p.m. The garden tractor pull will begin at noon, and a pedal tractor pull will begin at 4 p.m.

    The Baby Contest will begin at 3 p.m. in front of the band stage. Those who have registered must check in by 2:15 p.m. Deadline to enter online has been extended to July 19. Children are divided into age groups of 6-12 months; 12-18 months; 18-24 months; and 24-30 months. Call Amy Nezbeth Wallace to register at 330-257-4803.

    Bounce Houses and games can be enjoyed all day along with the dunk tank. Vendors will be on hand selling festival food.

    A gun raffle is planned with 1,000 tickets for sale at the ticket table. The drawing will take place when all tickets have been sold.

    Musical entertainment will run 7 to 10 p.m., with Leather and Lace and In Like Flinn. Bring your favorite lawn chair or sit on available seating.
