    One rescued from Quinnipiac River after kayak capsizes

    NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — An individual did not sustain injuries after needing to be rescued from the Quinnipiac River on Tuesday evening.

    Gas main rupture in North Haven leads to evacuations and suspended rail traffic

    According to a release, the North Haven Fire Department were called at approximately 7:50 p.m. after a kayak had capsized with people in the water. Using a boat and emergency personnel to locate the individual in the water between Sackett Point Road and Middletown Avenue bridge, the person was located as nearby Amtrak employees were seen pulling them from the river.

    Emergency services were able to confirm that only one person was in the water.

    No injuries were reported and the kayak was not found.
