Brian Ferentz to Serve as Interim HC During Kirk Ferentz’s Suspension
The college football world received surprising news on Thursday afternoon when University of Iowa Director of Nepotism Head Coach Kirk Ferentz announced a one game suspension for a self-reported recruiting violation related to securing the commitment of QB Cade McNamara (really!). I know, I can’t believe we’re punishing recruiting in 2024 either.
The NCAA Clown Show Continues
Here is the latest example of the NCAA Clown Show: Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz has been suspended for the Hawkeyes season opener vs Illinois State due to a potential Level II recruiting infraction. It appears the NCAA found evidence that the Hawkeyes reached out to their starting quarterback Cade McNamara while he was still a member of the Michigan Wolverines. That would be the definition of tampering.

Cedar Falls Police Make Arrest Connected to Cedar Falls Bike Accident
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KCRG) - Cedar Falls Police arrested a 42-year-old Ryan Pontasch who is connected to a bicycle accident that happened last March. Several minutes after 3:30 p.m. on March 13th, officers were sent to help after receiving a report of a GMC pick-up hitting a bicyclist, 22-year-old Krisha Keeran, who had been riding on the trail. Keeran was hit near the entrance of Pheasant Ridge Golf Course, located at 3205 West 12th Street.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Cedar Rapids police say they responded to a call for a possible shooting at the 6600 block of Kirkwood Blvd SW around 3:00pm. TV9 crews at the scene saw the parking lot of the Scooters Coffee blocked off with caution tape, and multiple law enforcement vehicles on the scene.

Eastern Iowa Company Cuts Almost 100 Jobs in Dubuque
Only 5 short years ago it was all smiles and ribbons were cut for this new facility in Dubuque Iowa. It is a 102,000 sq ft building that was to house 12 full-time employees and 200 seasonal part-time employees during the company's peak season. A satellite distribution center for the Duluth Trading Company based in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin. According to the Duluth Trading Company, the people here would "give more capacity to their internet sales distribution along with providing distribution to the company's brick-and-mortar locations". This location was to help with the operations of the primary distribution warehouse in Belleville, Wisconsin.
