Big Ten Media Days: Predicting where Iowa will be picked to finish in Big Ten
On Wednesday, the Iowa Hawkeyes will join the festivities in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium for the 2024 Big Ten Media Days. Head coach Kirk Ferentz will be joined by linebacker Jay Higgins, tight end Luke Lachey, and defensive back Quinn Schulte. Media Days are always exciting as it's the first opportunity to hear from coaches and players how the summer training has gone and what they think of their own programs as well as the opposition. It helps serve as the unofficial start of the upcoming college football season too, so business is about to pick up.

This FREE digital version of your official ID is available through a smartphone app and acts as a companion to your physical ID. While the mobile ID app is optional and not all businesses are equipped to verify it yet, it provides a secure and private way to carry your identification digitally.

Saturday, the Prairie States Mushroom Club is giving a presentation on what a mushroom is, and how mushrooms can be used. The presentation starts at 10 a.m. at the Cedar Rapids Public Library and is open to all mushroom-hunting experience levels, including beginners.

Iowa National Guard unit will return 150 soldiers back from Middle East deployment
On Friday, the Des Moines Airbase hosted a special “welcome home” ceremony for a group of National Guard soldiers returning from a year-long deployment in the Middle East. The federal government activated the 831st Engineer Vertical Construction Company (EVCC) to support U.S. Central Command in a territory encompassing 27 countries. This encompassed Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
