Pre-Season High School Volleyball Rankings
(Area) — The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union has released its Pre-Season Volleyball Rankings. In Class 1A, Riverside is ranked #8 — the Bulldogs went 27-11 last season and only lose two seniors this year. Ayla Richardson (636 assists, 96 kills, 143 digs, 39 blocks, 35 aces) returns at Setter, Elly Henderson (207 kills 145 digs, 36 blocks, 21 aces) is back up front, and Sophia Taylor (183 kills, 64 blocks, 19 aces) will give the Bulldogs a dynamic three-punch attack.

Here is the latest example of the NCAA Clown Show: Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz has been suspended for the Hawkeyes season opener vs Illinois State due to a potential Level II recruiting infraction. It appears the NCAA found evidence that the Hawkeyes reached out to their starting quarterback Cade McNamara while he was still a member of the Michigan Wolverines. That would be the definition of tampering.

Cedar Falls Police Make Arrest Connected to Cedar Falls Bike Accident
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KCRG) - Cedar Falls Police arrested a 42-year-old Ryan Pontasch who is connected to a bicycle accident that happened last March. Several minutes after 3:30 p.m. on March 13th, officers were sent to help after receiving a report of a GMC pick-up hitting a bicyclist, 22-year-old Krisha Keeran, who had been riding on the trail. Keeran was hit near the entrance of Pheasant Ridge Golf Course, located at 3205 West 12th Street.
