Drying out for the rest of the holiday weekend
A few showers and thunderstorms will roll through Michiana early Friday evening. Not everyone will see storms, but those who do could experience gusty winds and heavy downpours. Those showers and storms should wrap up by 8 PM. Tonight, skies will be mostly clear, but the air will still be a little muggy, so more fireworks-enhanced fog could develop across Michiana into Saturday morning. A few sprinkles are possible by 8 AM Saturday, but they should clear before noon. Skies will gradually clear throughout the afternoon, with highs only in the 70s. Sunday will be a beautiful end to the holiday weekend, with sunny skies and highs in the middle 80s. Storm chances return Monday night into Tuesday. The brutal heat looks to stay away until next weekend, at the earliest.

Counting Down The Irish — No. 26 Vyper-Boubacar Traore
Traore boasts the frame and quickness of a future pass-rushing menace, but logic—and his own brief history of playing the sport—dictates he’ll first fill a part-time role before battling for starting duties next season. There appear to be disparate Boubacar Traore journeys to date, one the long-haul...

TNIAAM Roundtable: our favorite Syracuse Olympic sports and athletes
With the Paris Olympics on the horizon, this week we asked the staff their thoughts about Syracuse Orange Olympic sports. What is your favorite Syracuse Olympic sport team?. Kevin: Cross Country. Of course it’s complete bias here. To me there’s nothing better than crisp Fall mornings spent challenging yourself not against a clock but against the other competitors, the course and the conditions. It’s great that the sport is moving away from being run on golf courses to actually getting back to a variety of surfaces.
