Hometown Days wraps up its 19th year

New Carlisle's Hometown Days festival is wrapping up its 19th year with a weekend full of fun, festivities, and community spirit. As this year’s celebrations end, excitement is building for next year’s milestone 20th anniversary.
LEAP’s La Porte Young Professionals host LakeFest Cornhole Tournament at Stone Lake Beach
On the afternoon of Sunday, July 28, La Porte Economic Advancement Partnership’s (LEAP) La Porte Young Professionals (LPYP) group hosted its annual cornhole tournament. The event took place at the Beach House on the shores of La Porte’s Stone Lake. LPYP is an organization that gives young professionals from a variety of fields the opportunity to network with one another. This is the third year that the cornhole tournament has been featured as a LakeFest event. LakeFest, which is in its fourth year, is a weekend-long festival that features a wide variety of fun and exciting events like live music concerts, Nerf gun battles, car shows, and Aquacross Jet Ski races.

Fairfield Community Schools hosting 'Fair in the Field' event on August 10

The Michigan City Parks & Recreation Department announces that there will be a special events parking fee on Sunday, August 4, 2024 for the XInsurance Great Lakes Grand Prix. Cars and motorcycles without a Washington Park parking sticker will be charged $40 to park. All other vehicles WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE PARK due to very limited parking; this includes trucks w/trailers, buses, and motorhomes.

Ohio man injured, car totaled in DeKalb County crash

Family ages out of its children’s paradise house in Southwest Michigan
Over about a dozen years, a Chicago family of five spent all the time they could at their home in Union Pier that the father says was “really a kid’s paradise.”.
