Häagen-Dazs to Open New North Miami Location

Located near the intersection of Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast 123 ^rd Street , Causeway Square is getting a Häagen-Dazs . The new ice cream shop, which is set to open soon at 1809 NE 123 ^rd Street , is the first from franchisees Delvis and Gabi Llanes .

“This location is quite uique,” Delvis Llanes told What Now on Friday. “Most Häagen-Dazs locations are in large malls or shopping centers. We’re aiming to be the community Häagen-Dazs, catering to North Miami, Miami Shores, and North Miami Beach.”

Llanes says that in addition to the chain’s ice cream, which comes in a considerable variety of flavors, the new Häagen-Dazs will offer a selection of cakes, including custom cakes.

“We’re also going to have a coffee program,” Llanes said. “I’m of Cuban origin, so naturally we’ll be bringing in espresso.”

The new location will have seating both indoors and outdoors, joining brands like La Brasa Grill , Smoothie Spot , and Macondo Coffee Roasters . Llanes says the opening represents an intentional shift out of the corporate world and into small business ownership.

“[Gabi] wanted to get away from the corporate life,” Llanes said. “We wanted to build something that would be ours.”

After launching the North Miami location, the two first-time franchisees plan on expanding with other locations in the area.
