Man Arrested for Alleged Child Molestation at Florida Apartment Pool

North Miami, FL - A 60-year-old man has been arrested by North Miami police following accusations of molesting a young girl at a local apartment complex pool.

Skender Halili, described as an Albanian national residing at the Villa Laguna at SoLé Mia complex, faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges in connection with the incidents.

According to police reports, the first incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Friday morning when Halili allegedly approached the 10-year-old victim, who was playing with dive toys in the pool.

Witnesses reported that Halili intentionally positioned himself near the girl and touched her inappropriately.

Later that same day, at approximately 3 PM, Halili allegedly made another attempt to touch the victim inappropriately while she was swimming near the pool toys.

A witness underwater observed the incident and alerted authorities.

Police arrived at the scene and arrested Halili, who reportedly admitted to potentially touching the victim but claimed it was accidental.

Surveillance footage from the complex reportedly captured multiple interactions between Halili and the victim, although the specific incidents of touching were said to have occurred underwater and were not fully visible on camera.

Halili has been charged with felony counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 12 and attempted lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 12, as well as misdemeanor battery charges.

He remains in custody without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center pending further legal proceedings.
