North Miami, FL - A man has been arrested after allegedly dousing his girlfriend in gas, assaulting her, and trying to run her over in a stolen vehicle at a North Miami gas station.

Police say 25-year-old Khristion Amari Owens was arrested on Monday after allegedly dousing his girlfriend in gasoline, assaulting her, and attempting to run her over.

According to police, the assault began with an argument between Owens and his girlfriend at a Marathon gas station on Memorial Highway on May 6th.

The situation escalated when Owens allegedly poured gasoline on the victim and followed her into the gas station.

The victim managed to escape the gas station, but was forcibly pulled back into a vehicle by Owens.

He then drove erratically, continuing to assault her, before she was able to flee the vehicle and seek help from nearby residents.

Owens then allegedly attempted to run the victim over with the stolen vehicle, striking her leg before crashing into a residence.

Owens is facing charges including attempted murder, false imprisonment, grand theft, battery, and criminal mischief.

He is currently in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center awaiting a bond hearing.
