NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — From chicken salad sandwiches, to gourmet steaks and freshly-made cocktails, Tidewater Grill and Bistro may not look like a lot from the outside, but when you step inside, you are guaranteed a delicious meal.
“This is what I tell everybody, from the outside, It doesn’t look like much because you’re driving by,” owner Sarah Arnold said. “But once we get you in once, we’ll get you to come back for sure.”
Arnold was originally an employee back in 2015 when the restaurant first opened. Fast forward four years, when the opportunity presented itself, she took over ownership and brought to life what it is now.
While many may mistake them for the golf course, they are located in what is called the “Tidewater Business Center” — hence the name of the restaurant.
“That is just what the previous owner has incorporated into their business plan,” Arnold said. “So, we just kind of kept it and it has stuck because we didn’t want to rebrand or anything.”
Offering American food with a heavy emphasis on seafood, there is something here for everyone. They offer lunch and dinner, and their menu stays the same throughout the whole day.
Their chicken salad sandwich is a house-made recipe mixed with onion, bell pepper and celery, in between two slices of walnut raisin bread, which gives you the sweet-and-savory combination.
“We know that if that was ever removed from the menu, we might have a mutiny on our hands,” Arnold said. “But I can tell you it is addicting.”
They also have their Swing Bridge shrimp and grits.
“When you are reading our actual menu it says a chef’s twist. So, we do a stone ground corn grit that we put a little bit of cheddar in that is the base of the dish,” Arnold said.
It’s then topped with jumbo shrimp, gravy, cheddar cheese and bacon bits. And if you want something fried, the Tidewater fried shrimp is the way to go.
“With this, you’re getting a little bit over three quarters of a pound of shrimp,” Arnold said. “So, you’re not leaving here hungry by any means”
Their drink making process is very unique. They squeeze all of their juices and make their own sour and margarita mixes.
When you come to Tidewater Grill and Bistro, prepare to enjoy delicious, mouthwatering food.
You can find them at the corner of Old Highway 17 North and Sea Mountain Highway in North Myrtle Beach.
They are open 7 days a week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with happy hour from 4-6 p.m.
