North Newton holding a city flag design contest

NORTH NEWTON, Kan. (KSNW) — The City of North Newton is searching for a new flag to represent their city, and they’re looking for a local artist to create the design.

Anyone who lives or works in North Newton is encouraged to submit a design that best represents the city and the community.

Requirements for the flag include:

• Simple and distinctive design
• Usage of meaningful symbolism
• 2-3 basic colors
• No lettering or seals
• Clear artwork that can be easily recreated
• Horizontal orientation

The winner will receive a $500 cash prize courtesy of Conrade Insurance Group.

Artists have until Aug. 2 to submit a design. They can be submitted in person at North Newton City Hall, 2601 N. Main St. , or a digital copy can be emailed to cityadministrator@northnewton.org .
