The Oregon Ducks are projected to finish second in the Big Ten in their first season in the conference, according to the annual cleveland.com preseason poll released Monday. The Ohio State Buckeyes are the overwhelming favorite to win the conference, earning 21 of a possible 27 first-place votes. The Ducks received six first-place votes, with all but one of the remaining conference media members polled picking Oregon to be runners-up in the Big Ten.

Thousands gather for Portland Pride parade Sunday
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland Pride celebrations had a stormy start Sunday, but the brief downpour wasn’t enough to rain on the parade. Thunderstorms sweep Portland, raising fire danger
Very loud thunder could be heard in Portland on Sunday morning but the worst of it is over, according to the National Weather Service in Portland. The weather service recorded hundreds of lightning strikes over northwest Oregon and southwest Washington through Sunday morning around 10:30 a.m., but the storm was expected to leave Portland by about 11 a.m., said Jon Liu, a meteorologist with the weather service in Portland.
