Road work underway on N-11, from the Garfield/Holt County line north for 13 miles
(Ainsworth, Neb.) — Work is underway on N-11, from reference post 114.97 to reference post 127.42, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Vontz Paving of Hastings is the prime contractor for this project. Work includes culvert and flume installation, milling, asphalt paving, and seeding. Traffic will be maintained with a pilot car and flaggers for temporary lane restrictions. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane for complete surfacing removal and replacement, from station 175+00 to 185+00, with traffic maintained with temporary traffic signals and an 11-foot width restriction. Anticipated completion is Sept. 2024.

Huskers take seven titles at Speedo Summer Sectionals
Six Husker swimmers competed at the Speedo Summer Sectionals this week in Columbia, Mo., combining for seven titles and a school record. Gena Jorgenson won four events and broke her seventh school record with a 2:14.39 in the 200m backstroke. The rising junior from Aberdeen, S.D. became the first Husker swimmer to be named a First-Team All-American with her eighth-place finish in the 1650 freestyle at the NCAA Championships this season. Jorgenson added wins in the 200m freestyle (2:03.66), 400m IM (4:54.38) and 400m freestyle (4:18.29), while also pitching in a fifth-place finish in the 200m IM (32.65). Giulia Marchi finished close behind Jorgenson in the 200m freestyle and 400m freestyle, taking second (2:04.00) and fourth (4:26.71).
