    COLUMN: Fun for the family at Back to School Bash

    North Port Young Professionals are planning their fourth-annual Back to School Bash, a vibrant community event promising fun for all ages.

    It’s set for 3-9 p.m. Saturday at the City Center Green.

    There will be food trucks, bounce houses and kid-friendly activities, vendor booths, live entertainment and local performances, and a Fire and Police Department showcase.

    The festivities culminate in a DJ dance and glow-foam party from 8-9 p.m.

    Admission is free. Wristbands are available to purchase for bounce house and youth activities.

    Proceeds support local North Port schools, reinforcing our commitment to education and community enrichment.

    SIX PERSONAL PERSPECTIVES SEMINAR

    The North Port Chamber will kick off a series of free quarterly seminars to help business people learn to better develop personal and professional skills.

    The first of these will be 8 a.m. to noon July 26 at the Sarasota Memorial Emergency Room, 2345 Bobcat Village Center Road.

    Heather Jorge of Keller Williams Realty Gold will present “The Six Personal Perspectives.” This seminar will teach you how to:

    Discover how to utilize your strengths and weaknesses to achieve self-mastery.Pinpoint and time block for the 20% you should be focusing on to achieve a career worth having, a business worth owning and a life worth living.Learn the five steps you can take to purposefully break through your ceiling of achievement.Explore all the resources available to keep you learning based and learning for earning’s sake.Unlimited your thinking and your success by delving into ways to remove and redirect limiting beliefs.Adopt the accountability mindset and learn how to focus on the things that are within your control so you can effect positive change and overcome obstacles.

    This seminar is being provided by the chamber’s Professional Development & Education Committee. Seating is limited to 40, and reserved on a first-come/first-served basis.

    RIBBON-CUTTING CEREMONY

    The Chamber will be conducting a free ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. Tuesday today at PBJ Unique Creations, 1435 Collingswood Blvd., Unit E, in Port Charlotte.

    PBJ Unique Creations provides wedding design and coordination and treats each wedding as unique as the people getting married.

    Light appetizers and beverages will be provided.

    NETWORK @ NOON

    Join us at 11:30 a.m. July 18 at Dubz BBQ, 4391 Aidan Lane, North Port. It’s $20 and includes lunch, beverages. This event is for chamber members, but non-members can use a guest pass. Attendees must register in advance. Come at 11 a.m. for extra networking.
