    Martin Mull, ‘Roseanne’ actor who grew up in NE Ohio, dies at 80

    (WJW) – Martin Mull, an actor and comedian best known for roles in “Roseanne” and “Clue” among many others, died at age 80.

    Mull, who was born in Chicago but grew up in North Ridgeville, passed away at home Thursday while battling a long-term illness, his daughter Maggie Mull confirmed on Instagram .

    “He was never not funny,” she said in the post . “My dad will be deeply missed by his wife and daughter, by his friends and coworkers, by fellow artists and comedians and musicians, and—the sign of a truly exceptional person—by many, many dogs. I loved him tremendously.”

    Amazon delivery drivers honored for heroic actions

    He got his big break in television on the 1976 series “Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman” before moving on to a slew of appearances over the years, according to IMDB.

    Mull played recurring roles in TV sitcoms like “Roseanne” and “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” but is also known for portraying Colonel Mustard in the 1985 mystery comedy “Clue.”

    He was nominated for a Primetime Emmy in 2016 as an outstanding guest actor on “Veep.”
