ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. (WCAX) - It was a fiery night Wednesday at the Figure 8 race at the Champlain Valley Fair in Essex Junction. Cars were tailing each other for glory for the grand prize of $1,000. Montpelier still without a post office as the community voices its frustration
MONTPELIER, Vt. — In the wake of last year's devastating floods, Montpelier remains without a fully operational post office. The problem began 13 months ago when July's floods severely damaged Montpelier's old post office building. Since then, the community has been forced to navigate postal needs outside their own city.
New owners will bring capital investments to Killington
POWDR, the current owner of Killington Resort and Pico Mountain, will sell both to local investors. Michael Ferri and Phil Gross, two Killington homeowners, lead the investor group. According to a press release, the sale will close this fall, with the price yet to be released. The group will share details on capital investments at that time.

NH man dies after testing positive for mosquito-borne encephalitis virus
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire resident infected with the mosquito-borne eastern equine encephalitis virus has died, state health authorities said. The Hampstead resident’s infection was the first in the state in a decade, the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services said Tuesday. The resident, whom the department only identified as an adult, had been hospitalized due to severe central nervous system symptoms, the department said.
