Mass weather: Sunny Sunday leads into rainy, stormy week ahead
Enjoy the sunny weather early on Sunday, Massachusetts. Forecasters are predicting rain beginning in the late afternoon and evening that will last most of the week. Highs across Massachusetts are expected to reach the mid 80s on Sunday as clouds increase throughout the day — especially in Eastern Massachusetts, according to the National Weather Service. A low pressure coming off the ocean is predicted to bring rain and spread northwest across the state.

Rookie wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk made a bold statement about the New England Patriots’ quarterback room when speaking with media members. “All those guys put in lots of work that nobody sees,” Polk said, via NESN.com’s Kayla Gregoire. “All those quarterbacks do things that’s unordinary. They have things in their duffle bag that not many other people have, and they’re very special. I believe we got the best quarterback room out here.”
Patriots announce release of rookie defensive back
The New England Patriots announced the release of rookie free agent cornerback Kaleb Ford-Dement on Friday. Ford-Dement was one of nine rookie free agents signed by the Patriots back in May. He bounced around at Old Dominion, Washington State and Texas State in college. His best year came at Texas State when he had 21 tackles, three interceptions and seven pass deflections. It was always going to be an uphill battle for him in New England given the bevy of talent in the defensive backfield. The depth chart is topped by Christian Gonzalez, Jonathan Jones and Marcus Jones. There are also versatile players capable of contributing at cornerback and special teams, including guys like Isaiah Bolden and rookie Marcellas Dial Jr. The Patriots now have two open spots on their roster after releasing Ford-Dement and linebacker Jontrey Hunter on Monday.
