Cops 4 Cancer "Queen of Hearts" Drawing Thursday Night
Cops 4 Cancer is receiving funds in a number of ways. Their two day summer concert in Cedar Point is the 26th and 27th. But, before that, is another “Queen of Hearts” Jackpot drawing Thursday (Tonight) at Greg's Dew Drop Inn at 7. Chances are six for $20 or $5 each. You have to have a ticket in the drum for a chance to win. One ticket will be pulled tonight (Thursday 7-18). If the “Queen of Hearrts” is revealed, the winner receives 70% of the total pot now amounting to roughly $26,540.
Youth Service Bureau of Illinois Valley to host free picnic Aug. 4

Earlville man charged after cocaine bust
An Earlville man could face up to 15 years in prison after a Thursday buy-bust operation. Kenneth R. Hacek, 30, was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine), a Class 1 felony carrying four to 15 years in prison, the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team said in a news release.

Hazardous conditions on Fox River prompt temporary ban on recreational boating
High water levels and swift currents have created “conditions significantly hazardous” for boaters on large portions of the Fox River, officials reported. Recreational boating is banned until further notice from the mouth of the Fox River at Pistakee Lake near Johnsburg and Fox Lake, extending south through Kane and Kendall counties and ending south of the Bridge Street Bridge in Millington, which straddles Kendall and La Salle counties, according to an Illinois Department of Natural Resources news release.
Monster trucks to return July 20 to Princeton
The Overdrive Monster Truck Show will bring a couple of shows Saturday to the Bureau County Fairgrounds, 811 W. Peru St., Princeton. The first show is 10 a.m. and the second 4:30 p.m. Spectators can take a ride in a 12,000 pound monster truck, meet the drivers, walk the track and watch the show as the trucks flatten cars to pancakes, among other activities. Tickets purchased before the event begin at $10. Day-of-the-event pricing is $15 for children 1 to 11 and $30 for adults.
