Second Straight Month For Drug Bust At Main Street Home In Princeton
It may be time to address who owns a home in the heart of Princeton. Officers with Trident and the Princeton Police Department and Bureau County Sheriff's Department executed a warrant Tuesday at a house with the address of 805 North Main Street. Two men and a woman living at that house were arrested for drugs.
Parolee Headed Back To Prison For Sound System Theft In Princeton
Remember the story about a van and trailer full of sound equipment being stolen last fall in Princeton? The man behind the crime is headed to prison. Thirty-one-year-old Dean Blair of Tiskilwa pleaded guilty last week in Bureau County Court to felony counts of theft and possession of a stolen vehicle. He was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison. Blair also has to pay the victim, Gary Swanson, nearly $14,000 in restitution.
Investigation underway after man killed in motor vehicle accident in LaSalle County
LASALLE COUNTY, Ill. (WMBD) — A man was killed in a deadly accident Sunday in LaSalle County, Illinois. According to a press release from the LaSalle County Coroner’s Office, the coroner was called to the OSF St. Paul Medical Center Emergency Room regarding a man who had been involved in a motor vehicle accident southbound on Route 251, north of Mendota.

Leeward Renewable Energy’s GSG Wind Project built 26 new turbines and recycled 100% of decommissioned wind turbines, adding numerous clean energy jobs in Illinois. The GSG Wind project, which stretches across 3,000 acres near West Brooklyn, Illinois, became commercially operational in 2007. Illinois Representative Darin LaHood recently visited the site to meet with local farmers and discuss the economic benefits of clean wind power.
Burglary And Meth Arrest Made In Ottawa
An Earlville man is back behind bars after finding trouble again. Police in Ottawa on Monday arrested 31-year-old Lynnard Farley at Walgreens for burglary and possession of methamphetamine. Farley appeared in front of a judge Tuesday and the prosecution filed petitions to revoke his pretrial release and drug court terms for 2023 felony charges of dealing meth and theft. Farley is due back in an Ottawa courtroom Wednesday afternoon.

Two tornadoes confirmed in Marshall County Sunday night
A National Weather Service survey team has determined that 2 weak tornadoes touched down late Sunday night near Henry. The first one was a mile north of town. It was rated an EF-1 with 90 mile per hour winds. It was on the ground for 2 minutes, its length was under a half mile and its width was 50 yards. Several mobile homes were damaged. The storm also had damaging straight line winds in addition to the tornado. As soon as the first tornado lifted, a second tornado touched down 2 miles southeast of Henry in the Lake Wildwood area. The tornado was rated an EF-1 with 100 mile per hour winds. Its path was 6 miles long and the maximum width was 100 yards. It was on the ground for 3 minutes before lifting 2 miles northwest of Varna. Extensive tree damage was reported.

CHICAGO (CBS) — An earthquake was reported in DeKalb County early Monday morning. The U.S. Geological Survey confirmed the 3.4 magnitude earthquake in Somonauk, Illinois, a village near Sandwich, Illinois. The earthquake was reported around 2:50 a.m. It was believed to have originated from a depth of about 10 kilometers below the surface of the earth.The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office provided more information to "those who were woken up a short time ago to your house shaking."
