Former Sears Property in Peru Back Up for Auction
It's back to the drawing board for the vacant Sears property at Peru Mall. After quite a bidding frenzy, the property sold for $1.5 million in early May. Later that month, the winning bidder pulled out of the deal. According to stories Starved Rock Media reported at the time, the new owner had been from Tracy, California. The property now goes up for bidding again.
OSF Expands Ortho to Peru
As part of their continued "strategic expansion", OSF Healthcare is bringing Orthopedic Services to Peru. OSF's new Peru Orthopedic office opens Monday July 29th, and will be home to two surgeons Illinois Valley residents will likely remember, Doctors Connor Kasik and Robert Mitchell. Dawn Trompeter, president of OSF St. Elizabeth, says they “are excited to bring orthopedic services back to the Illinois Valley”, and that “this office addition reflects their commitment to providing exceptional healthcare services to more communities, and ensuring that patients receive the specialized care they need without having to travel long distances.” The new OSF Orthopedic office will be across from St. Elizabeth Hospital in Peru in Medical Office Building A.
