Texas A&M football team to travel the third furthest among SEC programs
During Mike Elko‘s first season as the football head coach in College Station, Texas A&M will have to travel the third furthest among the 16 programs in the Southeastern Conference. According to bookies.com, the Aggies will rack up over 5796 miles this year traveling to only four road games. The only SEC squads that have to go further is LSU and Mizzou. The respective Tigers from Louisiana and Missouri each travel long distances for non-conference contests. Therefore, Texas A&M is traveling the furthest for its SEC games. Texas A&M‘s longest route is 1847 miles to Columbia, South Carolina for a matchup versus the Gamecocks. The Aggies’ closest away contest is still pretty far, 967 miles away in Starkville against Mississippi State. Per BetMGM, Texas A&M has the eighth best odds to win the conference at +2000. When it comes to the Aggies’ SEC opponents this year, they rank in the following order regarding miles traveled: LSU (1st), Mizzou (2nd), Texas (4th), Mississippi State (5th), South Carolina (8th), Florida (12th), Arkansas (13th) and Auburn (16th). What's going on with Texas A&M football's wide receiver recruiting in 2025?
What's happening with Texas A&M football WR recruiting in the 2025 cycle?. Not too long ago, when evaluating the prospects for Texas A&M football at wide receiver in the 2025 class, there was no shortage of possibilities for the Aggies. The headliners were two in-state five stars in Kaliq Lockett of Sachse and Michael Terry of Alamo Heights. The Ags were never really in it for Dakorien Moore, but the other options seemed to more than make up for being out of that race.

North Carolina coach Mack Brown proclaims that Texas A&M coach Mike Elko ‘lied’ at Duke
North Carolina football head coach Mack Brown may be turning 73 years old next month but his memory is apparently stronger than ever. Brown took a shot at Texas A&M football head coach Mike Elko at the 2024 ACC Football Kickoff last week in Charlotte “Coach Elko said ‘I’ll be at Duke longer than Mack will be at Carolina,’” Brown recalled Thursday. “I called him when he went out to A&M and said ‘OK, you lied.’ He said ‘Well, I didn’t think I was gonna (leave).’ I said ‘Yeah, I got it. I hear all that.’” To be fair, Elko was in Durham for only two seasons, so he has a point. However, Brown of all people can’t fault Elko. Especially since Brown left his first stint with the Tar Heels after 10 years to become leader of the Longhorns in 1997. With the College Football Playoff expanding to 12 teams this season, perhaps Elko will get the opportunity to silence Brown in the postseason later this year.
