Average gas prices in Massachusetts? See how much here
Massachusetts gas prices fell last week at an average of $3.49 per gallon of regular fuel on Monday, down from last week's price of $3.50 per gallon, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The average fuel price in Massachusetts has risen about 6 cents since last month. Puffers Pond Remains Closed to Swimming
Puffer’s Pond will remain closed to swimming until further notice due to high levels of E. coli bacteria. There are many factors that could be contributing to this ongoing issue and the town is looking into causes and exploring long-term solutions. The town conducts water quality testing weekly with results being posted on Wednesdays at www.amherstma.gov/puffers. The most recent results were posted on Wednesday, July 17 and new results will be posted on Wednesday, July 24.
‘Lucky for Life’ winner: $25k a year for life prize won in Massachusetts
A Massachusetts lottery player won a $25,000 a year for life prize during Wednesday night’s “Lucky for Life” drawing. The winning “Lucky for Life” numbers for the multi-state drawing were 7, 18, 20, 39, 46 and Lucky Ball: 10. The ticket that won $25,000 a year for life matched the first five numbers, but not the Lucky Ball.
Pedolzky sisters kick New England Mutiny into high gear
WESTFIELD - Sisters Chandler and Emma Pedolzky, both of Westfield, contributed to the New England Mutiny’s victories in United Women’s Soccer Eastern Conference semifinal and final games on July 12 and 14. The Mutiny defeated Steel City, 2-1, and Sporting CT, 1-0, to advance to Friday night’s UWS semifinal against the Michigan Jaguars.

Netflix has announced a three-part documentary series focused on the. murder trial and the death of Boston Police Officer John O'Keefe. Read faced charges including second-degree murder in the death of O'Keefe, her boyfriend, with prosecutors alleging that she struck him with her SUV outside a home in Canton, Massachusetts, in January 2022. MONTAGUE, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Senator Ed Marke, Represenative Natalie Blais, representatives from the EPA, Mass DEP, the Nolumbeka Project, and the Governor’s Office were all in attendance at Thursday’s celebration for the upcoming Strathmore Mill demolition and restoration.
