Lane restrictions Thursday on Route 147 in Northumberland, Union counties

Northumberland County, Pa. — Lane restrictions will be in place Thursday on Route 147 in Union and Northumberland counties for road work.

In Point Township, Northumberland County, a PennDOT maintenance crew will perform concrete joint testing on Route 147 between the Route 45 Exit in West Chillisquaque Township and Ridge Road Exit. The work will be performed in the right (driving) lanes in each direction between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. This project is expected to take just one day, weather permitting.

In Union Township, Union County, the right (driving) lane of Route 147 northbound will be restricted on the approach to the Central Susquehanna Valley Transportation (CSVT) River Bridge from the Snyder-Union side of the river. A maintenance crew will be performing pavement testing. Work will be performed between the hours of noon and 5 p.m., weather permitting.

Drivers should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, watch for lane shifts, and drive with caution through the work zone.
