Lewisburg, Pa. — The Kiwanis Club of Buffalo Valley/Lewisburg, in cooperation with the Public Library for Union County, has founded the Builders Club, a service club for middle school students.

The club is open for sixth- through eighth-grade students. Students who attend schools in the Lewisburg area and homeschooled students are all welcome.

Club members will carry out service projects both in their schools (if applicable) and throughout the community. The group will meet each month to learn a new skill or technique that can help students improve their academics; a service project activity; and a presentation designed to improve awareness of local civic and social needs.

The Builders Club will meet on the first Thursday of each month at 4 p.m. at the Public Library for Union County in Lewisburg.

Enrollment in the club is limited to twenty participants. Students who wish to join this organization must register for the club online or in person at the library by Tuesday, Sept. 3. Please contact Dr. Patsy J. Marra at pmarra@ptd.net for more information.
