Williamsport, Pa. — Through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC), Coterra Energy has made a two-year $140,000 commitment to Penn College's dual enrollment program.

This program allows students from over 70 Pennsylvania high schools, tech schools, and career centers to earn college credits with no tuition charge.

Coterra's contribution will also support transportation costs when high school students visit campus to go on tours and meet faculty.

EITC is a program that offers businesses tax credits if they make contributions to approved Educational Improvement Organizations such as the Penn College Foundation and the Community Arts Center.

Each year, at least 2,000 students participate in Penn College's dual enrollment program, earning more than 7,000 Penn College credits.

“This generous two-year EITC commitment from Coterra provides substantial support to the Penn College Dual Enrollment program and our valued partners,” said President Michael J. Reed. “When high school students are able to take courses for college credit, it builds confidence, and they jump-start their higher-education experience. In addition, they save money for themselves and their families while developing rigorous and relevant skills. The dual enrollment option delivers a crucial head start toward earning a college degree and finding sustainable employment. This is important, because when students demonstrate success in college courses, they are more competitive in the college admissions process and when applying for relevant career positions.”

“At Coterra, we recognize the transformative power of career and technical education, especially when it bridges the gap between high school and higher education,” added George Stark, director of external affairs. “Our commitment to supporting dual enrollment opportunities through the Pennsylvania College of Technology reflects our belief in the importance of equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in today’s energy and manufacturing industries. By investing in this program, we are ensuring that every student in the commonwealth has the chance to pursue higher education without financial barriers.”

“This initiative, made possible through Pennsylvania's Education Improvement Tax Credit Program, is a continuation of Coterra's decade-long commitment to advancing career and technical education across Pennsylvania. We are proud to contribute to the future success of our students and communities.”
