Bloomsburg, Pa. — A man who was undercharged nearly $900 at Tractor Supply allegedly didn't respond when the company tried to recoup the money.

Now Raymond E. Dohl, 53, is facing charges of theft for failing to pay for 100 T-posts at the Bloomsburg store.

Tractor Supply employees contacted police on June 28 after they discovered Dohl had come to the store to pick up 150 8-foot-long T-posts he had ordered from the store on Columbia Boulevard. An employee mistakenly charged him for just 50 posts, but Dohl loaded all 150 in his vehicle and left, charges say.

When they discovered the error, an employee contacted him on Facebook Messenger. They could see the message had been read, but Dohl didn't respond, according to police.

The cost of the unpaid posts totaled $879.

Dohl was charged with theft by deception.

Bottom line. He was dishonest. And he took what he didn’t pay for. That’s theft regardless of anything. An honest person would say, this isn’t the amount I ordered.

People think finders keepers is a legal construct. It’s not. It’s a rule among thieves
