    PSP to host free license plate replacement event

    Montoursville, Pa. — The Pa. State Police and State Rep. Joe Hamm's office will host a license plate replacement event for people with damaged, peeling, and otherwise unreadable license plates.

    In order to receive a new plate, participants must drive the vehicle with the damaged plate attached; have a current registration card; and have a Pennsylvania driver's license that is not expired.

    The plate replacement event will be held Thursday, Oct. 10 from 4-7 p.m. at PSP Montoursville, 899 Cherry St. All paperwork for obtaining a plate replacement will be handled at the event.

    Those who cannot attend the event may apply for a license plate replacement by completing PennDOT's form MV-46 , including authorization by a Certified Safety Inspector or State Trooper.

    Driving a vehicle with an illegible license plate may result in a fine of up to $100.

    Give you a fine for them having incompetent contractors who were paid to paint these plates? 😆

    people could also just go to any inspection station, they can give you a replacement card for your license plate.
