Lewisburg, Pa. — Two people from the eastern part of the state were arrested for stealing $990 of items at Lewisburg Walmart.

Felicia Marie Schmidt, 31, of Williamstown, and Brandon M. Smith, 36, of Dallas, were arrested earlier this month after police connected them to the theft on July 29.

Trooper Matthew Lesher of PSP Milton said three suspects, including a male later identified as Smith, and Schmidt arrived at the store in a grey Chevrolet SUV. The trio got a shopping cart and went into the grocery doors.

Schmidt made a small purchase of a notebook with cash and carried the bag into the cosmetics area where she began putting items in the bag, according to the affidavit. She then left the store through a fire door in the garden center.

Smith also had been through the store and allegedly carried an amp to the garden center, removed it from the box, and placed it in his pants. Smith left the box on a shelf. He exited the garden center, got the SUV, and met Schmidt and the other unknown male suspect on the side of the garden center.

The three suspects then left the store in the SUV. Lesher was able to trace the registration for the SUV to a woman in Williamstown, who told police she did not know who had her vehicle on July 29, according to the affidavit. The woman told Lesher she lives with her son, but mentioned two other people stayed with her for approximately two months before she caught them stealing from her and kicked them out. The woman told police one of the people who stayed with her was a woman she only knew as "Face." Lesher was able to identify "Face" as Schmidt through her Facebook page and TikTok videos.

Lesher also was able to find Smith through Facebook and match him to video surveillance from the store. Smith's Facebook indicated he was married to the owner of the SUV, according to the affidavit.

Smith and Schmidt were charged with misdemeanor retail theft and conspiracy retail theft charges. Both will have a preliminary hearing on Sept. 19 at the office of District Judge Jeffrey A. Rowe.

The third suspect has not yet been identified by police.
