Totally Ninja Raccoons hunt to end on Sept. 3

Wellsboro, Pa. — The Totally Ninja Raccoons Hunt will come to an end this September — get out to hunt now! The hunt, spanning 25 area businesses during the month of August, will end at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, the day after Labor Day.All hunters must turn their passports in at From My Shelf Books & Gifts at 7 East Avenue in Wellsboro to be eligible for prizes.The local bookstore, owned by author Kevin Coolidge, is hosting the hunt for the raccoons.

The hunt is open to youngsters, teens and adults of all ages and is based on Coolidge’s “Totally Ninja Raccoons” action series for 7- to 10- year-old, reluctant readers. The series is about three raccoon brothers who become ninjas.

Each participating business has free passports, listing all the businesses where searchers can find the raccoons. When a customer spots the raccoons, the business will stamp or sign the passport.

Each participant’s passport must be signed or stamped at each place the Totally Ninja Raccoons are found, in order for his or her tickets to be placed in the prize jar. Hunters need not be present at the drawing to win.

Prizes include gift certificates donated by all 25 participating businesses and a $100 grand prize. Winners will be announced on Friday, Sept. 6.
