Bloomsburg, Pa. — A neighbor who claimed to witness a woman violating a restraining order is now being charged after police say the story was a lie.

Deanna Marie Robbins, 53, was the sole witness of the alleged Protection from Abuse order violation, said Officer Clinton Libby of the South Centre Township Police Department. He was called to a home in the 10 block of Arch Street in July after William Parks I called police about the PFA order against his ex-girlfriend.

Parks told police his ex-girlfriend had been at his home from noon until 6:30 p.m., according to his neighbor, Robbins. Libby spoke with Robbins, who allegedly confirmed in a phone call that she had seen the woman there most of the day. Robbins later reiterated the story in a signed witness statement, Libby said.

Libby contacted the ex-girlfriend, who denied being at Parks' house. She said Robbins couldn't have seen her at the house because she spent part of her day at the Columbia County Courthouse. Libby spoke with a deputy at the courthouse, who confirmed the ex was at the courthouse during the time of the alleged PFA violation.

Robbins is being charged with making a false statement to law enforcement.
