Pennsdale, Pa. — Once per month through February 2025, The District Cinema at Lycoming Valley will host Eerie Evenings, a time to look back at some quality horror films from the 1980s.

The next screening will be held on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. and features "The Return of the Living Dead," a 1985 horror-comedy in which warehouse workers accidentally break a container of experimental chemicals that awakens brain-munching zombies. Featuring a punk-rock soundtrack and matching characters, the film is (very) loosely based on the development and use of Agent Orange.

Tickets are available for purchase on the Dipson Theatres website .

This screening coincides with a promotional event on the District Cinema's Facebook page. Moviegoers can interact with the cinema's Facebook page for a chance to win a $50 gift card.

Additional Eerie Evenings and their films will be:

    Nov. 7: "The Evil Dead"Dec. 5: "The Lost Boys"Jan. 2: "The Shining"Feb. 6: "The Thing"
