Selinsgrove, Pa. — A woman who walked out of Boscov's with more than $600 of items in her cart claimed she forgot the items were there, according to police.

Michelle M. Spicer, 38, of Coal Township, was at the Boscov's store at the Susquehanna Valley Mall on Sept. 21 when police were called. Spicer had been shopping with a cart when she walked out of the store near the shoe department into the mall with $609 of merchandise, according to court documents.

Boscov's loss prevention stopped her and took her back to their office. Spicer reportedly told them she forgot the items were in the bottom shelf of her cart. The items, totaling $609, included toys, cosmetics, jewelry, and a diaper bag, according to the affidavit.

Investigating Trooper Jarrett Walters of PSP Selinsgrove noted Spicer had two previous retail theft convictions, from July 13 and September of 2014, according to the affidavit. Due to this, Spicer was charged with a felony count of retail theft through the office of District Judge Scott A. Zeigler. At her preliminary hearing on Monday, Spicer's case was waived for court.
