Fabulous Fergie
Fergie is a sweet senior Chihuahua who is about 12 years old and weighs about 9 pounds. Fergie arrived at the shelter after being found alone in a pet carrier without food and water. She was lucky to have survived being abandoned and arrived at the shelter dehydrated, with a flea infestation, inflamed skin, urine scald and two extremely dry and infected eyes. Tails Up Paws Down took her into rescue, nursed her back to health and removed her painful right eye. Her left eye has chronic dry eye and due to it being left untreated, she has lost most of her sight in that eye. Despite this, she is a very sweet and happy girl who loves attention from humans. She is a little more selective (likely due to her limited sight) with dogs but has acclimated well to the dogs in her foster home. Fergie enjoys going outside and will wait for you to take her out so she can potty outside. Fergie is fully vetted, heart-worm negative, microchipped, on flea preventatives, had a dental, is spayed and is receiving bi-weekly medicated baths for her skin. Her senior bloodwork results were great and all within normal functioning. Adoption applications can be completed at tailsuppawsdownrescue.org or email info@tailsuppawsdownrescue.org. ••
